2018: It’s here, the ELD mandate is real, Uber keeps making missteps while Lyft gains market share, and everywhere the transportation industry is changing.  UPS announces its plans to invest in block-chain technology to help with its logistics and on and on it goes.

Where do you want to see yourself in a year?  What will 2018 hold for you?  Many people are cautious to set a goal or a vision for the year, much preferring to let life happen and then they react to it.  Others choose to set a challenge for themselves-to make themselves better in some way by getting fit, reading more books, taking a bucket list trip, or start volunteering.  Which of these people are you?

Despite the rather chaotic 2017 year, our industry is on an uptick, truck driver shortage notwithstanding.  Our industry is only going to continue to grow as our world gets more and more connected-there will always be products and people in need of transporting from one place to another.  We see a trend in the country moving people back towards the trades, working with your hands, and a newfound respect for those that work long hours for the sake of others.  This is what we do in the transportation industry; we are in a service industry.  Too often in the past the general public forgot that but there is a sense that our industry is beginning to be recognized for what it is: absolutely vital to the nation’s success, autonomy, independence and vibrance.

At the start of 2018, we at NTC are excited and looking forward to helping thousands of transportation industry professionals save money on services they already pay for over the next 12 months.  We want to be a force for positive change in this industry, but at the individual level.  We’ll let others do the lobbying and politicizing; we want to help you, the person, with one of your most fundamental needs: helping you keep more of your hard-earned money.

We invite you to poke around, look up information on the services we offer, read up on our leadership team, sign up for a free 30-day trial to see what being a Member is like or contact us if you have any questions.  We are here to help you.
